
Jorge Vega received his BSEE and MSEE from the University of Arkansas in 1998 and 2001, respectively. He started his career with Texas Instruments in Tucson, AZ, as a Validation/Applications Engineer. His career moves included working with Qualcomm, ThermoFisher Scientific, Silanna Semiconductor, and Northrop Grumman, where he has been since June 2020. He is a Senior Principal Engineer for that organization. In that position, he is Technical Project Lead for the Space Power Conversion Team, as well as a technical mentor in the area of power electronics. He focuses on isolated power supplies and custom magnetics. Mr. Vega currently lives in Severna Park, MD, with his wife Ruth, whom he met at the UA, and his 3 children, Paul (19), Jorge (12) and Bella (5). He was a member of the IEEE PELS Educational Videos Committee from 2020-2022 and has also been a Cub scouts Den Leader, a Crossguard Lead for Del Mar Heights Elementary and a Sunday School Teacher. Leisure activities he now enjoys include wood working and spending time with his family.
