John Gajda is Professor of the Practice at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he teaches power systems courses in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department.  John has worked over 30 years in the electric utility industry; his first exposure to power systems was as a summer engineering technician for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Mountain Home resident office and at the Bull Shoals Hydroelectric plant.  John worked 18 years at Progress & Duke Energy and 5 years in North Carolina’s electric cooperatives in distribution, generation, and transmission roles.  His other engagements have been in consulting, in solar power plant operations, and in state regulatory and federal government roles.  John holds his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas, and his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University.  He is a licensed professional engineer in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida.
